Menentukan Prosentase Unsur dalam Hidrat

Tentukan prosentase masing-masing unsur dalam setiap hidrat berikut ini:

a. Magan(II) sulfat monohidrat MnSO4.H2O

b. Tembaga(II) perklorat heksahidrat Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O

Diketahui Ar Mn= 55 S=32  O=16 H=1 Cu=63,5 Cl=35,5

Jawab:

Dengan membandingan massa atom relative unsur dengan Mr senyawa hidrat maka kita bisa mengetahui prosentase unsur dalam hidrat.

a. Mr MnSO4.H2O

= Ar Mn + Ar S + 4xArO + 2xArH + Ar O

= 55 + 32 + 4×16 + 2×1 + 16

= 169 gmol-

Prosentase Mn

= Ar Mn / Mr MnSO4.H2O x 100%

= 55 / 169 x 100% = 32,54%

Prosentase S

= Ar S / Mr MnSO4.H2O x 100%

= 32 / 169 x 100%

= 18,93%

Prosentase O

= 4xAr O + Ar O / Mr MnSO4.H2O x 100%

= 4×16 + 16 / 169 x 100%

= 47,33%

Prosentase H

= 2xAr H / Mr MnSO4.H2O x 100%

= 2×1 / 169 x 100%

= 1,18 %

b. Mr Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O

= Ar Cu + 2xAr Cl + 8xAr O  + 12xAr H + 6xAr O

= 63,5 + 2×35,5 x 8×16 + 12 x 1 + 6×16

= 370,5

Prosentase Cu

= Ar Cu / Mr Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O x 100%

= 63,5 / 370,5 x 100%

= 17,14%

Prosentase Cl

= 2xAr Cl / Mr Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O x 100%

= 2×35,5 / 370,5 x 100%

= 19,16%

Prosentase O

= 8xAr O + 6xAr O / Mr Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O x 100%

= 8×16 + 6×16 / 370,5 x 100%

= 60,46%

Prosentase H

= 12xAr 1 / Mr Cu(ClO4)2.6H2O x 100%

= 12×1 / 370,5 x 100%

= 3,24%
